Hi there. My name is Daniel McArdle and I live on W 5th Ave, where I happily call home. I’m running for the borough council in Ward 4.
I moved here from Upper Pittsgrove NJ where I grew up and had the pleasure of serving as the youngest member on the Board of Education.
I’m a scientist by day where I work in drug safety and efficacy at Merck, where I’ve been since 2019, prior to that I worked at GSK in Collegeville. The commute from home was brutal so I moved here, and I’ve loved it ever since.
My desire to serve both the community and the country has involved serving on the Conshohocken Planning Commission and in the US Army National Guard. Both have been interesting, challenging, and have allowed me to see first-hand how even minute decisions affect everyone. More locally I've served as the chair of the Citizens Advisory Committee of the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) where I continue to serve, and the chair of the Public Participation Task Force for the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) and once my term ended I moved to the Regional Safety Task Force.
Knowledge gained, but not shared with others doesn’t help the greatest number of people that’s why since 2015 I’ve been an adjunct associate professor at Rowan University in the biology department teaching a variety of course from biochemistry and microbiology, to introduction biology and science communication.
I want to continue to ensure that Conshohocken remains a welcoming and encouraging community to all that call it home.
